Job Functions

  • The Job Functions table defines operational roles based on actual activities performed, primarily used by the shift planning functionality in the Staff module. This table includes specific function examples such as "Cashier" (handling transactions at the register), "Stock Replenishment" (restocking shelves and inventory management), and "Customer Service" (assisting customers on the sales floor).

Unlike Job Titles, which define hierarchical positions and salary grades, Job Functions are strictly activity-based classifications without implications for organizational rank or compensation. These functions enable precise shift planning by matching staff members with required operational activities, ensuring adequate coverage for each functional area during different shifts.

The system uses these classifications to optimize staff scheduling, balance skill sets across shifts, and ensure all critical operational functions are covered.
